An Employee to Entrepreneur: The Transformation
By : praval
The successful transition from an employee to entrepreneur requires arousing of an entrepreneurial fortitude which is the de facto parameter for all would be entrepreneurs. There have got to be obstacles in the roadmap of an entrepreneur as this transformation is not at all an easy one and requires a lot of courage and determination to succeed.
This transition state deals with a lot of key decisions which have to be strategically thought about. Some of the important considerations are;
- The presence of guts, risk taking attitude and self belief override all the others as these not only shape the business output but also help in a physical, mental and spiritual transition.
- If you are into a full-time job, prior permissions from your workplace should be taken before venturing into a private business affair.
- Fitting in with the required legal framework i.e. registration of a company and attracting people from different spheres of the society to come and advise you on different parameters.
- Clarity of thoughts in one’s mind about the products or services to be offered in the future makes more sense enabling working towards the goal in a streamlined direction.
- Proper experience and strong funding sources are strict positives to have before setting things straight of this transformation.
- Innovative thoughts and their proper implementation not only offer a good support but also indirectly help in the proper implementation of the expansion strategies.
- The important questions such as how, what, when, why about a startup need to be addressed precisely with proper justification.
- Once the business starts to earn profits, be prepared to plunge into it full time with full dedication and commitment.
All things said and done, it is the choice and decision of an individual to initiate this highly rewarding transition from an employee to an entrepreneur. It requires a lot of personal introspection, self probing and self confidence as every entrepreneur knows that the sacrifices involved in the preliminary stages are huge and the worst part is that no one is sure about the success of a business idea.
The motivation for an entrepreneur can be different, but the common thing is that it is worth a try which would surely have a mixed bag of results for every individual and definitely lead to a change in one’s life, thoughts and the way of analyzing problems. If one has the dare to dream big in life, this transformation is what will radically change one’s life. If you want ‘more’ out of life in terms of financial stability, recognition, social status, options etc., this is the transformation which you should go through sooner or later.
